“The Ascent” is a sculptural study of pure kinetic energy. Designed to emerge directly from the surface of your wall, this piece captures the exact millisecond a dolphin breaks the boundary between the deep ocean and the open air. It is a celebration of the “Aqueous Flow”—a moment of joy frozen in the timeless texture of stone.

The Vision: Parametric Fluidity

Inspired by the “Neo-Futurist” curves of Zaha Hadid, this sculpture rejects static lines in favor of a continuous, sweeping motion.

The Breach: By engineering the dolphin to “jump” out of the wall, I have turned the vertical plane into a liquid horizon. The sculpture interacts with the architecture of the room, creating a 3D experience that changes as you move around it.
The Fibonacci Curve: The aerodynamic arch of the dolphin’s body follows the Golden Ratio, ensuring that the “Ascent” feels naturally balanced and aesthetically perfect to the human eye.
The Stone Illusion: Utilizing my signature Stone-Couture method, the piece possesses the weathered, prestigious look of carved granite or sea-washed limestone. It looks as though it was recovered from an underwater monument, yet it remains light enough to “float” on your wall.

Technical Mastery: The Construction

Fluid Drafting: Mapping the “Line of Motion” to ensure the dolphin’s pose captures the aerodynamic grace of high-speed travel.
Structural Sculpting: Building a lightweight, high-density foam skeleton to provide the “bones” for the 3D form.
The Stone Finish: Applying layers of specialized tile glue and texturing with sponges to achieve a deep, mineral-rich patina that mimics the weight of solid rock.
