Hair Study

The Art of Texture and Light.

“Hair Study” is an exploration of movement, depth, and the delicate nature of light as it falls across individual strands. Created using the specialized dry brush oil on canvas technique, this piece moves beyond a simple portrait to focus on the intricate textures and flowing lines that define the human form.

The Technique

By using a minimal amount of oil paint on a dry, stiff brush, I am able to build up layers of incredible detail without the heavy texture of traditional oil applications. This allows for:
