PORTRAIT OF LIZA: The Spirit of the Skies

A Wedding Gift. A Tribute to Passion and Flight.

“Portrait of Liza” is a deeply personal work created as a wedding gift for a dear friend. The inspiration for this piece came from Liza’s own life and her absolute love for her career as a flight attendant with Aeroflot.

Her request was simple yet striking: she wanted to capture the iconic, vibrant color of her uniform and the pride she felt representing the “Spirit of the Skies.”

The Vision: Aeroflot Orange

The focal point of this portrait is the signature “Aeroflot Orange”—a bold, high-energy hue that symbolizes warmth, professionalism, and the excitement of travel.

  • The Fluid-Couture Uniform: To represent the movement and fluidity of flight, I utilized a specialized paint-pouring technique for her attire. This creates a marbled, “liquid” texture in that iconic orange, making the uniform feel alive and modern.

  • Dry Brush Soul: In contrast to the energetic color of the clothing, Liza’s features are rendered with delicate precision using the Dry Brush Oil technique. By focusing on her gentle expression and intelligent gaze, I was able to capture the poise and grace she brings to her work every day.

  • A Sky-Bound Contrast: The interplay between the bold, textured orange and the soft, porcelain-like skin tones creates a piece that is as vibrant as a sunset at 30,000 feet.

The “Dual-Technique” Fusion

  1. The Pour: An energetic application of fluid acrylics to celebrate the iconic color of her professional journey.

  2. The Portrait: A disciplined dry-brush oil application for anatomical accuracy and a “lit-from-within” glow.
